Ok, some observations... Off the cuff... May be a little strong but it's the truth in my opinion and needs to be said.
1. We MUST get on slack next year. I think it's vital probably more for this league than maybe any league out there, because it's obvious that basketball isn't everyone's favorite sport and we NEED more basketball chatter at the very least. Which leads to point 2. 2. Basketball trades are the hardest out there IMO, but it's like passing an ACT exam just to get any kind of head way in a trade here. Will I take slack for saying this, probably and it's fine but sometimes I don't even feel like it's a dynasty league and it's a draft in hold league at times. I think there is about 5/6 teams (who should be rebuilding) don't even make any attempt at all to trade. Not a PM, not a trade block, not even making any post at all on anything.
- Bottom line, we have to move forward as a league. It's basketball and I get it won't be 8 trades a week, multiple adds and drops, etc because of the cap. Slack would be a big step in expediting some trade talks as well as just general discussion about a lot of things, especially just guys talking. And for the love of God, set your lineups this week. It's not fair for some teams trying to get in and you can't even set your lineup.
Anyone that knows me over the years In DBL will agree with everything I said so I know I won't offend them with this as they know it's constructive. If you take it another way, I'm sorry but it's something I feel needs to be said

Been a tough year for me, especially with roster management on injury/cap front... I get the point of needing to rebuild, but I think I needed to hold and incrementally improve both roster balance and cap management moving forward to get back to a playoff team / fringe contender like the previous year... I've also made a concerted point to set my lineup and provide competition in fairness to the league rather than neglect management for a tank.
Certainly not taking your post as targeted at me, just pointing out my particular situation and justification for some of the lack of turnover.

1) Agree with having a Slack channel
2) I will say I think this year's league was more active than last year's leagues. That said, this league is definitely less active than the other ones I'm in with several of you (partially due to this being basketball), and I think it's a good thing to talk about increasing activity. There should be 2 or 3 times as many trades and a couple of teams aren't even making FA/IR/roster moves. I don't know if I have a recommendation. The only thing I might say is that we can stand to have a tighter string on the "bottom tier" of owners in terms of activity (e.g. if you aren't setting your lineup for a week, you're out).

I really do, and I'm not saying everyone has to make 15 trades a year or any really. Being up against the cap or close certainly plays a part, injuries plays a part. Every situation is different. Setting your lineup isnt a rebuilding or contending thing, it's a necessity. Im not saying if you have a losing record you blow your team up, I get it. I think there are certainly moves any team can make IMO but that's neither here or there. We've talked in the past and they have always been good whether there was a deal or not.

I’d be fine with slack or anything else if it helps create action on the trade market. I think more than anything you just have to look at the teams who made no effort this year. It’s an extremely competitive league which is awesome but to see a group of teams who have cap space don’t make adds leave injured guys in constantly and I’m sure they can’t even bother to respond to PMs should be let go some of the teams aren’t even in bad shape just bad owners. Definitely need some replacements I also think their should be a bigger cap increase but that’s a separate issue. I get it stuff happens etc or a team can be cap strapped this isn’t who I’m referring too but if your an inactive owner you need to go .
