With some significant time until the NBA off-season and our season being finished, we have plenty of time to look at things across the league. If you have any rule suggestions, here is the place to post them
For now there is only 1 big change we will have this off-season for the rules. (I think, if any of the members of the staff recall anything else we have discussed please remind me)
1. The Salary Cap will be bumped from $145 million to $165 million this off-season. Based on the NBA salary cap and us having basically half as many teams, having the salary cap at $165 million should allow teams to own more players on their real contracts and move us away from having so many guys owned through FAB

Anyone have anything that they think we should discuss?
We need to discuss the regular season and playoff format for the coming season, I know that, but outside of that, any ideas?

I don't really want to say it but we should think of covid rules in case the league decides not to be in a bubble.

I don't really want to say it but we should think of covid rules in case the league decides not to be in a bubble. Unfortunately, I think that is something we will likely deal with. I think the easiest/fairest thing to do is make a COVID list on everyone's roster and if a guy is out do to COVID the team can place the player there and pick up a player for free that will replace the player on the COVID list, so when the player on the list comes off the player signed to replace them gets auto dropped. This would mean that the player added would be an instant add so that no other team can try to sign said player. To keep from guys doing this and getting extra guys playing during the week, the player going on the COVID list has to be confirmed to be out from COVID to warrant the instant add of a replacement. Thoughts? Tweaks? Other suggestions for this?

I think it's a fair offer for all teams involved. We will most likley need to add additional IR spots to accomidate.

I'm not sure how many ESPN allows, so I will need to look at that when they get things back up for fantasy basketball on ESPN. We might just have to make them FAs and keep a running list like we do for the G-League so guys can see if they are available or not

I know mentioned above players would be picked up and the replaced player would automatically need to be redropped.

If a player is out due to COVID, you will post in IR to move him to COVID-IR and if you decide to add a player to replace the one that is out, I will denote that on the roster by putting *COVID Replacement Player* where their contract normally is. Once the player on the COVID-IR is activated the player added to replace the player will be instantly dropped. I will look at ESPN to see if I can uncap the limit of players on IR *We will still only have 2 regular IR spots*

Now are these replacements a salary we have to pay and normal drop rules apply? Or is it just a player you get to use like an old school add in a redraft league and once our guy is back, he just gets thrown back into FA?

Or is it just a player you get to use like an old school add in a redraft league and once our guy is back, he just gets thrown back into FA? It is an instant free add, because they are a direct replacement of a guy out due to COVID they are tied to the player they are replacing, so they are instantly dropped when the guy out comes back. That is why my post said they will have *Covid Replacement Player* where the salary would be in my post

All of this makes sense to me. I have one question - how should we post that we're using a replacement player? Should we post in the IR move itself or in the FA section like normal (with a note that it's an IR replacement)?

So just clarifying they do not carry a salary? Not trying to make it hard just want to be sure lol

Post in FAB section and either put in the subject line or the post below that it is a COVID replacement for the specific player they are replacing
