Anyone have ideas for 2 more CATs we can do? it was suggested to have it be 3pt made over 3pt%, which I am good with talking about, is there anything anyone has seen in another league that might be a fun CAT to add to our league I would vote for the 3P made as well.

That’s an analytics stat right? I’m not a huge fan of those to be honest

Yeah. It weighs 3 pointers differently than a 2. Just kinda throwing it out there.

Both are good, I do like turnovers, double doubles are kind of common, so I would be looking more at triple doubles, unless guys think that leans in favor of whoever gets guys like Harden, Russ, LBJ, etc.

Turnovers and three pointers made are the two categories I think we should add for sure.

So looking over ESPN categories we can use the only ones I am seeing that make sense to use would be TO, AFG%, Double Doubles, Triple Doubles, OREB, DREB, and 3PM(if we do that instead of 3PT%, or we do both?)

Also with 16 teams something to discuss
Do we do 2 conferences East/West or Best/Rest(something unique) or 4 Divisions If we do 2 conferences do we do 19 weeks to play conference opponents twice and the other conference 1 or something else If we do 4 divisions do we do 18 weeks to play each division team twice everyone once or 20 weeks and play 2 teams from another division twice along with division opponents twice

I would say: Pts, ASST, REB, Block, Steal, TO, 3PM, FG%, FT% as baseline. I think 3Pt%, AFG%, and double doubles are fine as well. I dont necessarily like the split of OREB and DREB Triple Doubles are pretty damn rare, there's like 4 players who will be the only ones who ever get them. only 15 players got one or more last year.

How do we want to handle FA in the offseason? In DBL where quite a few of us are from we do a FA draft each offseason which would be set by inverse standings as I don't see the need to do a lottery for that. Or we could do open bidding like we will in season for FAs but that would create a lot of our own contracts, which we voted against. Any suggestions? If none come in I think we will just do the FA draft, which we would vote on rounds like 2/3 maybe

FA draft based on inverse standings like DFL makes sense to me. In season bidding should be only thing that makes arbitrary salaries/ones different than real life..... are we doing contract lengths, FTs, etc like DFL? or do we just get to keep players through their free agency?

I keep forgetting DFL's FA draft is more or less the same thing as DBL's. We are using real life contracts, like DFL but not shrinking them like DFL. If we do a FA draft we will also use a FT system to keep a FA to be guy like DBL and DFL, most likely just making it like DBL where the guys contract the first year will be 150% his actual contract
