I know in baseball we have an option to "franchise tag" a real life free agent which is nice because you can keep them but it costs you 150% of their next years salary. Are we going to do that here? I would prefer a smaller penalty (mavbe 10 or 20%). Just thinking about if someone were to franchise Chris Paul, they would be paying 1.5 * $40 million or $60 million to keep him. Basketball salaries are a little crazy and you'd have one player taking up half of your cap. Any thoughts?

I'd be open to FT Tag and have seen this in other dynasty league formats

What about 150% of first year salary but with a max number... say $10 million. So anyone with a 1st year $20 mil or less uses 150% and anyone over $20 mil gets a flat $10 mil penalty.

I am open to discussing this and putting it to a vote. I used the 150% because thats what DBL uses, but I can see how that might make things difficult with the way NBAs FA is different than MLBs
