Rookie Draft Order:
1. Regular inverse order of standings
2. Lottery (weighted also used as punishment for tanking)

I was the lone person who voted for inverse. Obviously it looks like Option 2 won, however, I will state my argument for #1. Of course, if Option 2 holds I don't think it's bad in any way for the league and will be just as excited to play.
I understand the detriments of teams tanking in fantasy. It's always better when everyone is trying their best and being competitive. Plus it provides those who play the tankers a "bye week" of sorts, which is most likely going to take place down the stretch of the season when each win/loss is pivotal. Teams typically will tank by not managing their team, leaving starting spots open, or benching their best players. I believe this can be policed, and penalties can be implemented to help prevent this.
The reason I'm for it is because it's not uncommon for a team to rebuild, and draft picks are a big part of that process. The difference from the 1st pick and the 5th is oftentimes a significant one (of course you never know for sure; all based on projections). It would suck if after a couple of months my team is sucking, so I trade my impact players for picks. I finish last, even though I continued to manage my team, but get the 5th pick because I was unlucky in the lottery.
I understand dynasty leagues are are lot more fun when they most resemble the real league; however, when it comes to the lottery, the main reason the NBA doesn't want teams to tank is because it provides a bad product for those watching in the stands and at home. I don't think anyone is live-streaming our score-tracker.
Again, lottery is still fine, just wanted to express my thoughts for why I chose inverse. Also, I understand that if we implemented penalties for tanking other than a lottery that would require more management from the commissioner. He's already got a lot to manage anyway, so I would understand if the juice isn't worth the squeeze, so to speak.

With a vote of 10-1 we will be using a lottery to determine the draft order for non-playoff teams
