With the Off-Season approaching, we can begin to discuss some things that might need tweaking/changing or things that need to be added/taken out. If you have a suggestion outside of the list in this post, please post below and we will start to discuss them and then put them to a vote if need be/if multiple viable options are presented
1. Salary Cap. The NBA's cap rises every season and I feel like we are chasing a # every year, so a consistent rising cap # to somewhat mirror the NBA's seems the most logical thing to do here. 2 options that have been brought to me are $5 million every off-season or 5% every off-season
Option 1 would be 2021/22 = $170, 2022/23 = $175, 2023/24 = $180, 2024/25 = $185 Option 2 would be 2021/22 = $173, 2022/23 = $182, 2023/24 = $191, 2024/25 = $201 Other Ideas are welcome

3. G-League Rule. This one probably won't be up for debate, as the staff and I feel it is a necessary change. Currently the only players that can't go on the G-League are guys selected top 10 in DBBL, it will more than likely be both NBA and DBBL top 10 picks that can not be on the G-League. Guys like LaMelo Ball and Rui Hachimura were never meant to be on a G-League roster during their rookie seasons. Hachimura was in his 2nd season this past season and sat on a G-League roster all year. That is not what I intended this rule to be when I made it.

1. I think its a necessity we do this which is the consensus Im sure. Caps are meant to be restrictive which is what we want. The thing I personally struggle with is if you tag a superstar (leagues like this are meant to not be restrictive on keeping great players) is it could maybe cost 67.5 million dollars. If you have say a guy like that and another max, you are well past over half of the cap. Partner that with even the C level role players getting 15 million a year, it creates problems for us. What we need to talk about IMO is finding a cap that encourages keeping of great players (as well as superstars) but not too high to where you have to make some hard decisions too. Chris Paul for me (example after 2020) was the 6th overall player in 2020 and I had to let him go because there was no chance to keep him in the cap structure. Kyle Lowry was a top 30 guy and same thing. Im sure there are others across all teams. Im blaming the NBA for this not the league obviously. It forces us into more of a Rookies and Stars and pray you can add a great player in the FA Draft and FAB than it is about a true dynasty format.
1A. One thing we do in DBL is allow teams to trade cap/money, and I think we should have that discussion here. We can cover as much as we want on a player but I think by trading cap, trading alone would increase and two, it would give rebuilding teams more ammo in trades which will help the balance over time.
2. Slack (Reasons on other thread)
3. I think the only exception to what you laid out is if say LaMelo Ball for some reason went to the G league/Euro League (or different player) after they were drafted in the top 10. I think that is ok then but when and if they got "called up" they would be forced to bring them up.
- One thing that could correct that is not picking guys that are not in the rookie draft each year. The International guys and whoever else is eligible to be drafted in what would be drafts a year or more away would correct that too.

1. I like the idea of a consistent percentage based increase each year for the cap. Was looking at the CBA and they agreed to do between a 3%-10% increase each year till the 2023/24 season. Would probably prefer to go with maybe a 7% increase each year bc 5% feels like its on the lower end. Not a hill im willing to die on so im flexible on the actual % increase if majority leans one way or anther.
1A. In response to Mr Sabercats - 67.5 mill is a number we wont see yet but obviously understand your point. Maybe for players that are due to make over $30 mill a year in their new deals dont accrue a penalty to tag. This might help teams keep top players since it wont cost them extra. I would still keep the 150% penalty for players making under that to help keep the likelihood of guys moving on and bolstering the FA draft talent pool.
2. Discord rips
3. For G League eligibility, maybe limit it to players who havent been drafted by an NBA team, havent been signed by an NBA team, or havent completed their rookie year. This would allow the space to be used for international players until they are drafted and also only players in their rookie season. Once they have been in the league for the year, you have to move them up or drop them (probably without a cap pentalty)
